We will be composing our 2020 editorial calendar for Pickerington Magazine very soon. With that in mind, I would like to invite you to our annual community editorial meeting. We value your input, especially because you are a person who we believe has an impact on the community, and would love to hear from you.
This is an opportunity for the editorial staff at the magazine to meet and mingle with the people, business owners, organization leaders, etc who are in the community every day and get your ideas for possible stories in 2020. Not only does this meeting give the community a chance to make its voice heard through a publication endorsed by the City and Violet Township, but it also gives us at the magazine a chance to get connected to the important topics, profiles, and events that should be included in the 2020 issues.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 8 a.m. at the Pickerington Public Library in the Digital Classroom. Since the library doesn't open until 9 a.m. on Tuesdays someone will be there to open the door. We'll bring the refreshments and light snacks - all you have to bring are your ideas!
To help you prepare and organize your thought and ideas, know that in addition to the individual sections that appear in each edition of the magazine (Faces, In Focus, Student Spotlight, and other features) every issue of Pickerington Magazine has a theme. At least one story relates to that theme. The themes for 2020 are:
February/March: Health and Fitness
April/May: Education
June/July: Food
August/September: Kids
October/November: Vibrant Seniors and Pets (dual theme)
December/January: Holiday
If you have any questions, or if you can’t attend but still want to give some suggestions, please send them my way. You can reach me at lfreudenberg@cityscenemediagroup.com or via phone at 614-572-1245.
