Use Data to Make Informed Business Decisions – Census Data for Small Businesses
Are you looking for data to help you start or grow a business or understand the business landscape for a region? The Census Business Builder provides easy access to information about the residents and businesses to help you open or expand your business. The tool presents key information that entrepreneurs and small business owners need to better understand their market. This workshop will start with an introduction to the Census Business Builder to help you become familiar with the many different types of demographic and economic data contained in it. This will be followed by a live demonstration of the key features and functionalities of the Census Business Builder. The goal is to familiarize you with the Census Business Builder so that you can use it to research your own business.
Tim Sarko has worked for the U.S. Census Bureau for the past 25 years and is currently a Data Dissemination Specialist (DDS). He lives and works in the Cleveland, Ohio area and covers all of Ohio. He started in his current position as a DDS in 2011. Before that, he worked as a Supervisory Statistician for the Census Bureau's Charlotte Regional Office since 1995, supervising almost all of the surveys conducted by the Census Bureau. Tim grew up in Cleveland, OH and attended The Ohio State University.
