Emmy Award-Winning journalist and Co-Anchor Angela An will be the 2018 Emcee for the Annual Lighthouse Domestic Violence Shelter Spring Luncheon and Style Show on Saturday, March 3 from 12-2 pm at the Lancaster Country Club. Tickets are on sale now! The Lighthouse Shelter has been helping victims of domestic violence in this area for more than thirty-five years – providing a safe haven, court advocates, and counseling. The Lighthouse Board of Directors and staff invite the community to preview beautiful spring fashions from local fashion boutiques and to enjoy the latest fashion looks and accessories from Christopher Banks, CJ Banks, JCPenney, A Season in Time, Benesque Boutique, and Cabbie’s.
“Our Style Show is a great opportunity to spend the day with family and friends,” says Suzy Grubb, Lighthouse Board President and Style Show Organizer. “The basket raffles and prizes are even better than last year, and all proceeds are benefiting a great cause with your donations.”
Suzanne Pelletier-Capitini, Executive Director of The Lighthouse, discussed the impact of the fundraiser. “This is a wonderful opportunity to take a stand against family violence, and to show the support of the community in The Lighthouse’s efforts to end violence in the home.”
Founded in 1980, The Lighthouse, Inc. is Fairfield County’s Domestic Violence Shelter, providing protective shelter to victims of domestic violence and their children. They also provide individual counseling, group therapy, community support service, and legal advocacy services to in-residents as well as out-residents. The Lighthouse is a private, non-profit health agency dedicated to promoting the existence of a safe and peaceful home and family life environment through quality services focused on the prevention, education and treatment of family violence. The Lighthouse, Inc. is a United Way Agency and a contract agency of The Fairfield County ADAMHS Board, Office of Criminal Justice Services Family Prevention Grant, VOCA and SVAA funds. Last year, The Lighthouse was able to provide over 5,000 nights of emergency shelter and over 15,000 meals. On an out-resident basis, The Lighthouse provided services to 1,623 individuals.
Tickets can be purchased by calling 740-689-2558. Tickets are $35 and include lunch. Raffle tickets are available for three prizes: $400, $200 gift card, and a Red Star Quilt. Raffle tickets are $1 or 6/$5. You do not have to be present for the three door prizes. All proceeds benefit The Lighthouse Domestic Violence Shelter.

The Lighthouse offers a safe, supportive environment for victims when they are involved in domestic violence situations. In addition to emergency shelter, The Lighthouse offers the following: 24 Hour Hotline Staff are on-site at all times. They are trained to assist victims and to answer questions. I 740-687-4423. The Lighthouse offers group and individual counseling for adults. This service is available to anyone who has been victimized by domestic violence. Individual counseling is also available for children. We will assist victims of domestic violence with court proceedings. We can also help with referrals to affordable legal services. Case Management is available to assist clients with their basic needs. Speakers are also available to community groups.
