    Petermann Bus is one of the largest student transportation providers in the world and is currently seeking eligible applicants for our Pickerington location.     EXPERIENCE:    Prefer commercial driving experience and knowledge of Pickerington/Violet Township
    • Possess valid applicable state license and other required certification to operate company vehicles (must obtain Commercial Learner’s Permit before beginning training).
    • Meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; as safety-sensitive employees will be subject to random substance abuse screening under company policy and DOT guidelines.
    • Satisfactorily complete and pass all training, attending safety meetings and in-service  meetings in order to remain qualified.
    • Demonstrate sensitivity and diplomacy in dealing with passengers/students.
    • Ability to assist passengers/students with special needs within ADA guidelines and client contract.
    • High degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the bus.
    • Practice defensive driving at all times and avoid vehicular and industrial accidents by practicing safe driving and work habits.
    • Ability to maintain effective rider behavior management over groups. 
    FUNCTION:  To provide safe and reliable transportation service for passengers/students while     operating buses to and from destinations, demonstrating excellent customer service while efficiently performing related duties.
    SCOPE:         The Driver provides service for assigned passengers/students.

    Driving Record Qualifications include:
    • At least 21 years of age and have had a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years
    • No DUI, DWI, or OWI convictions within past ten years
    • No more than two moving violations within the past 3 years
    • No more than one accident within the past 36 months in which you were determined to be at fault.
    • No major violations within the past 3 years
    Major Violations include:
    • Failure to stop at scene of accident (hit and run)
    • Driving while license is suspended or revoked
    • Reckless driving
    • Possession of opened container of alcoholic beverages
    • Speed contest, drag racing, or attempting to elude an officer of the law
    • Speeding ticket for driving more than 15 miles per hour over the posted limit.
    Criminal Background
    Criminal background checks are obtained and reviewed to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws.  Each applicant will be individually reviewed and will not be denied employment based solely on the grounds of a conviction or guilty plea for a criminal offense.  The type of offense and the relevance of the criminal conviction/guilty plea to the position applied for will be considered in the employment decision.
    Criminal background checks are run on every applicant before an offer of employment is extended. 
    No record, clear record or no convictions
    Charges with a disposition of not guilty, nolle prosse, waived by clerk, dismissed or expunged
    Charges with pending disposition (must disclose outcome of charge within 48 hours of disposition)
    Traffic citations
    One or more convictions (felony and/or misdemeanor) involving violence, weapons, controlled substances, sex crimes or burglary
