    Job Description

    Information Technology Specialist

    The American Motorcyclist Association is looking for a full-time Information Technology Specialist who supports the operations and maintenance of effective technology and business system services. These services generally include CRM integrations, hosting for various applications and websites; email; analysis of data; systems administration; and management of databases, network security and information security. Systems are both in-house and cloud-based. This position requires a hands-on, self-starting individual.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage integrations through the API of the association management system MemberSuite, and legacy CRM applications
    • Support customer-facing interfaces and other externally facing applications and services, including cloud-based services, such as web and mobile, that integrated with the AMS
    • Prioritize support of membership acquisition and renewal efforts with respect to database management, data exports and customer interfaces
    • Develop operational reports and data feeds for use by the AMA and its business partners
    • Help oversee database management and administrative functions, including integrity checking, tuning, reindexing, backups, restores and disaster recovery
    • Work with other departments to ensure cross departmental opportunities are being planned, addressed and integrated
    • Advise executive staff on software solutions that integrate with new and existing systems
    • Work closely with project stakeholders to ensure all aspects of implementation and training meets plans
    • Prepare detailed technical documentation and instructions, as required
    • Desktop support, as needed

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Three-plus years of progressive experience supporting and developing web and Windows applications and services
    • Knowledge of database structures, technology, utilization and applications
    • Knowledge of APIs, including Simple Object Access Protocols (SOAP) and Representational State Transfer (REST) architecture
    • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (DB Design, Transact-SQL Development, Stored Procedure and Query optimization, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services)
    • Experience with reporting and analytics
    • Basic web-development skills, including HTML and CSS experience
    • Experience with .NET integrations
    • Experience with installation, maintenance and support of hardware, software and peripherals
    • Knowledge of networking topologies, equipment, protocols, transmission media and network management practices
    • Knowledge of systems and network security
    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting aptitude; quickly understand new technologies and how they work

    Experience with the following is a plus:

    • Business Objects Enterprise (Crystal Reports, Xcelsius, Web Intelligence, Universes)
    • WordPress-based Content Management Systems
    • Mobile App Development (iOS, Android)
    • Demonstrated expertise in HTML 5.0, JavaScript, CSS, DHTML, XML and XSLT
    • Experience deploying and managing web applications running on IIS 7. Familiarity with Agile and SCRUM software development methodologies
