By volunteering with United Way, you'll not only work to improve our communities, you will enjoy a valuable and rewarding experience through the hands-on opportunity to assist our community's agencies.
Here are just a few ways you can help.
• Community Care Day is the largest volunteer activity in Fairfield County placing over 500 volunteers annually, on a single day, at local non-profit organizations. This event is typically held in September.
• We recruit volunteers each November and December to assist with our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Volunteers are trained by United Way staff to become IRS certified and are used during the tax season.
• United Way Impact Councils provide an opportunity for philanthropic-minded individuals to network and learn about the programs and services funded to meet our community's needs.
• As a supplement to our Dolly's Imagination Library reading program, we're recruiting volunteers for our Volunteer Reading Challenge, an opportunity to read to school-aged children to improve literacy and student success.
